Privacy Policy

This policy covers tinkerandscribe.com (this website). It is run by Tinker and Scribe Workshop Inc. ("Tinker & Scribe", "we"), a New Brunswick company based in Elgin, NB.

Our products (Kickoff, Windrow, Logdriver, Bower Learning, The Mooring Line) run on their own sites. Where a product has its own privacy policy, that policy applies when you sign up for or use it; otherwise this policy applies.

What we collect on this website

• What you send us. If you use the contact or quote form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message. If you email chris@tinkerandscribe.com, we receive your email and its contents.
• Basic technical data. Our web host (Netlify) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, to run and secure the site.
• Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which can see your IP address.
• Campaign links. Some links we share include a tag such as ?src= so we know which post or email brought you here.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not use analytics cookies on this website.

How we use it

We use what you send us to reply, to prepare quotes or answer questions about our products, and to keep records of our conversations with you. We use technical data only to keep the site working and secure.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who else handles it

• FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) forwards contact-form messages to our email.
• Netlify hosts this website.
• Proton hosts our email.
• Google Fonts serves the site's fonts.

These providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States or the EU, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

Email from us

If we email you about one of our products, every message will say who we are, give our mailing address (1146 Route 895, Elgin, NB E4Z 2M3), and include a simple way to opt out. Reply "unsubscribe" or use the opt-out link and we will stop, within 10 business days at most.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and quote requests as long as we need them to deal with your request and for our business records, and then delete them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent to further contact at any time. Email chris@tinkerandscribe.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's information through it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
